Children’s Court of Victoria

The Children's Court is a specialist court that hears cases involving the care and protection, and criminal offending of children and young people.

The Family Division (also known as Child Protection) of the Children's Court has jurisdiction to make orders in relation to the care and protection of any child under the age of 17 years.

This Practice Direction is issued pursuant to section 592 of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005
