Guided by the needs of all court users, Bendigo's future court will bring court services together in one state-of-the-art building.
Designed alongside those who work in and access court services, Bendigo Law Courts will:
- help people to navigate the system easily
- reflect a therapeutic approach where appropriate, with enhanced support helping people address the underlying issues that bring them to court
- promote equitable access to justice
- use advanced technology to enhance service delivery.
It will be the first regional court in Victoria to provide specialist courts for the Koori community and for family violence, drug and mental health matters, as well as a specialist Children's Court response operating on circuit.
It will service the Magistrates' Court of Victoria, Children's Court of Victoria, and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, as well as the Supreme Court of Victoria, County Court of Victoria and Federal Circuit Court on a circuit basis.
