School tours

Courts Services Victoria runs a School Education Program for VCE Legal Studies students to facilitate visits to the Supreme and County Courts.

Other community groups or non-VCE Legal Studies school groups are not eligible for this program. However, groups can sometimes arrange their own visits to Victorian courts, including the Supreme and County Courts. More information on visiting is available on the individual courts' websites.

Visiting the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court program includes a presentation from a member of the Education Team and the opportunity to view a criminal or civil court case. When available, a Supreme Court judge will speak with school groups.

Visits are available Monday to Thursday (morning and afternoon sessions) and Friday (morning) during school terms. Morning sessions run from 9am-midday. Afternoon sessions run from 1.15pm-3pm.

Visiting the County Court

County Court staff deliver the County Court program. All students will have the opportunity to meet and interact with a County Court judge.

Visits are available Monday to Thursday (morning and afternoon sessions) and Friday (morning) during school terms. Morning sessions run from 9am-midday. Afternoon sessions run from 1.15pm-3pm.

Student Introduction to Jury Service

Staff will guide students through the Melbourne Jury Pool room, where they will learn about the Jury Empanelment process.

Visits are only available on Friday afternoons during school terms. The session runs from 1.30pm-2.45pm at the County Court.
